Education

ELCJHL Education

The largest ministry of the church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land views education as the most important opportunity to empower and equip the next generation in our community with a top-tier education, as well as values of tolerance, peacebuilding, and understanding.

Each of our four schools have side-by-side religion classes, where students of both Muslim and Christian faith learn about both religions together. This is unique in Palestine, as many students nationwide learn only about their own religion, and are separated from students of different faiths. We believe by learning about the two religions together, students will graduate with a basic level of respect for those with different beliefs than their own.

Education is key in Palestine for a future full of opportunities and choice. Students who graduate from ELCJHL schools graduate with tools, resources, and over 90% of all our students enter university immediately after graduation, and many study abroad using connections, language skills, and opportunities from their time in the ELCJHL school system.

The community between the four schools is also something special. Throughout the year, each school hosts events and invites the other three schools to attend. There is a special comradery between all of the Lutheran schools.
