Rev. Zu’mot Installed as Pastor of Redeemer – Jerusalem

Jerusalem – The Rev. Fursan Zu’mot was installed as the pastor of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land’s Redeemer Lutheran Church – Jerusalem, this first Sunday in Easter.

The installation was officiated by Bishop Ibrahim Azar, Propst Wolfgang Schmidt, The Rev. Carrie Smith, and The Rev. Gabriele Schroeder.  Reverand Zu’mot is Bishop Azar’s successor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Arabic-speaking congregation. Bishop Azar was the pastor of Redeemer for 30 years and was consecrated Bishop of the ELCJHL in January this year.

Pastor Zu’mot received his theological formation at Adelaide Lutheran Seminary in Australia. He received The Rite of Ordination in June 2017. Pastor Zu’mot was born in Salt, Jordan, is married to Rawan Said, and they have an infant daughter, Taleen Zu’mot.

“My vision for the congregation is that I guide them toward that transformation,” Pastor Zu’mot said.
