The ELCJHL is proud to announce the ordination of Reverend Sally Azar to be a pastor in the ELCJHL. The ordination ceremony happened on January 22nd, 2023, with an attendance of over 500 local and international guests.
Sally is the first Palestinian woman to be ordained and serve in Palestine. She will serve the English-speaking congregation of the Lutheran Church in Redeemer as well as the ELCJHL congregation in Beit Sahour. We are so proud to be making history in the name of gender justice, and paving a way for the women and girls in our church to feel their voice matters.
