March 8th marked International Women’s day amidst the whole of March–international women’s month. To honor this day, our Gender Justice Program Manager Mrs. Ranan Issa made a statement on our social media pages as a call to action for gender justice in the world and everywhere.
Many of our pastors took part as well, handing the “reins” to the women in their congregations to lead the worship service that Sunday. Women preached, lead prayer, lead song, and read liturgy. This was a great way for women to get involved in their faith community, and to showcase the amazing spiritual gifts our women hold to the entire congregation.
The ELCJHL is proud to push toward gender justice each and every day, and works to make gender justice a priority in our ministry.
