تراجع للشبيبة 2023 في الاردن
Last week, the ELCJHL Youth Ministry, in collaboration with the ELCJHL Gender Justice Ministry مكتب العدالة بين الجنسين, organized and facilitated a week-long youth retreat to Jordan. The theme of this retreat was "One Body, One Spirit, One Hope", which is the LWF's theme for its upcoming global assembly. Youth discussed their role as youth both in their Church, but also in the global Church. The group also participated in a session led by Ms. Shadin Nassar, Program Coordinator to the ELCJHL's Gender Justice Ministry, about gender norms and equality in the Palestinian society, and in the church. Throughout the week, youth prayed and worshipped together in many different spots of the country. The group visited the The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethany Beyond the Jordan, Ranger Adventure Campمركز الاستكشاف والمغامرة الأردني مخيم رينجر, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Amman كنيسة الراعي الصالح اللوثرية- عمان. Youth also had the amazing opportunity to visit Wadi Rum and Petra, two historical and natural treasures of the region. This retreat was especially meaningful and significant because it is the first time in over fifteen years that youth from all six ELCJHL congregations could gather in the same location. Visas, permits, and borders make it very difficult for our Amman youth to be a part of our regular youth programming, and it was truly a blessing to be joined with them once again for such a beautiful retreat. We hope for many more to come. Many thanks to our hardworking pastors! ELCJHL Youth Pastor Rodny Said, Rev. Sally Azar, and Rev. Imad Haddad worked tirelessly to create a faith-filled, engaging, and overall wonderful experience for our precious youth.
