Development Opportunities

In order to meet the challenges of the present situation, the Congregational and Educational Ministries of the ELCJHL are continuing to develop programs and facilities to meet the specific needs of our communities. But in order to realize our dreams, we need your help.

If you are interested in giving an endowed gift or developmental grant and wish it be specifically designated toward a particular project, we invite you to peruse the list below where you will find a current list of proposed projects awaiting funding with the ELCJHL.

Current Projects in the ELCJHL

3rd Floor for the Evangelical Lutheran School in Beit Sahour - The ELS is in the process of adding a third floor to its current structure. This new addition will house 2 new science labs and 2 new classrooms.
Project total: $90,000 USD
Administration Building for Dar al-Kalima Evangelical Lutheran School in Bethlehem - Dar al-Kalima has begun construction on new Administration facilities for the school. We need your help to finish the internal works.
Project total: $100,000 USD
Information and Communication Technology Unit at New School of Hope - Designed as an integral part of the new Evangelical Lutheran School of Hope building project, this new Information and Communication Technology Unit with benefit both the students and the community at large.
Project total: $250,000 USD
Architectural Design and Tender Documents for the New School of Hope - The foundation stone for the new Evangelical Lutheran School of Hope has been broken, but we are still in need of funds to pay for the architectural design and tender.
Project total: $50,000 USD
Growing Capacity to Serve - Plans and proposals are ready for a second stage of building at the new Evangelical Lutheran School of Hope in Ramallah. This stage will increase capacity of the school to three times its current size.

Community Center in Ramallah - Plans and proposals are ready for a third stage of building at the new Evangelical Lutheran School of Hope in Ramallah. This stage will add a much-needed Community Center facility to the property.

Developing our Kindergarten Program - We have finished the first year of redeveloping our kindergarten program, but we are still in need of additional funds for years 2 and 3.
Project total: $26,000 USD per year
Conflict Resolution Action Plan - This past Spring the ELCJHL Director of Education, along with all directors, staff and educators, held a workshop of Conflict Resolution. Help us implement the Action Plan that came out of this workshop.

Library for Dar al-Kalima - With new English-language library books coming in through the ELCJHL Libraries Project: Opening a World of Possibilities Dar al-Kalima Evangelical Lutheran School in Bethlehem needs its own library facilities! Help fund design, construction, and furnishings for this new library.

Curriculum Development - Help our ELCJHL Schools in developing new curriculum through the work of the Martin Luther Resource and Curriculum Development Center.
Project total: $25,000 USD per year
Dar al-Kalima Sports Facility - The Dar al-Kalima project is adding a new Sports Facility, thanks in large part to the generous donation of Calvary Lutheran Church through the Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR).
